Hustle and Phở: A Sports Lover's Weekend in Hanoi

Explore the vibrant culture, food, and hidden gems of Hanoi - all while keeping fit over a weekend. A perfect blend of romance, adventure, and mouthwatering local cuisine!

By Jordan Davis

Hey fellow wanderers! Strap on your walking shoes and let's dive into the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. It's a city where tradition meets modernity - packed with motorbikes, street vendors, ancient temples, and tantalizing food at every corner. Get ready to explore, eat, and exercise in Hanoi, all in 2.5 days!

We kick off our Friday night at Bia Hoi Corner. It's a legendary spot where everyone congregates for local draft beer, and it's perfect for budget-savvy folks like us. Plus, it's an ideal place to people-watch and soak in Hanoi's lively night scene.

Saturday morning, we start with a gentle jog around the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake. It's a beautiful and peaceful oasis right in the city's heart - you'll see locals practicing Tai Chi, fishing, and even doing aerobics.

Post run, we reward ourselves with Vietnam's national dish - Phở. Head to Phở 10 Lý Quốc Sư. It's a tiny joint with arguably the best Phở in town. Their broth is simmered for hours, and it's served with fresh herbs and chillies - a must-try!

Next, we explore the Old Quarter, a labyrinth of narrow streets filled with shops selling everything from silk to spices. Don't miss out on Café Giảng for their famous egg coffee, a delightful creamy concoction that'll leave you craving for more.

Sunday's all about romance. We start with a leisurely stroll through the flower-filled Bát Tràng Ceramic Village, and maybe even try our hand at pottery. Then it's off to lunch at The Hanoi Social Club, a hip spot with a healthy menu and a laid-back vibe.

We wrap up our weekend with a visit to the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre for a unique puppet show performed on water - an experience you won't find anywhere else.

Hope you enjoy Hanoi as much as we did! Safe travels, friends!
