Hanoi Hoppin': 2.5 Days of Pho, Fun, and Hidden Gems

Your ultimate guide to squeezing every drop of fun, food, and authentic experiences out of a weekend in Hanoi. From the bustling street markets to serene lakeside views, we've got you covered.

Hey there, Wanderers! Ready to dive headfirst into a whirlwind weekend in Hanoi? Buckle up, because we've got some exploring to do.

Kickoff your Friday night at Tạ Hiện Street. Fondly known as 'beer corner', it's the perfect spot to soak up Hanoi's vibrant nightlife over a cold Bia Hoi, Vietnam’s fresh, foamy, and insanely cheap beer. Once you’ve gotten your buzz on, grab a quick bite from one of the street food stalls. Make sure to try the Banh Mi, a delicious Vietnamese sandwich that will keep you going all night.

Saturday morning calls for a hearty breakfast (and maybe a coffee to shake off that beer buzz). Head to Phở Gia Truyền, one of Hanoi's best spots for Phở. This hearty bowl of noodle soup is the perfect start to your day of adventure.

Now, it's time for a little culture. Visit the Temple of Literature, a beautiful Confucian temple that was also Vietnam's first university. Afterward, explore the Old Quarter. Wander its narrow streets, filled with traditional Vietnamese houses and shops.

After a day of walking, refuel with dinner at Madam Yen. This spot combines traditional recipes with a modern twist. Don't forget to try their grilled fish, a Hanoi delicacy.

On Sunday, explore the serene West Lake. Hop on a bicycle for a leisurely ride around this massive lake, or rent a paddle boat for a little on-the-water fun. Finally, treat yourself to a well-earned iced coffee at The Hanoi Social Club before catching your flight home.
