Hey there, fellow wanderers! Pack your bags because we're heading to the sun-soaked coastal city of Albufeira. With its golden beaches, charming old town and delicious seafood, it's the perfect destination for a family weekend getaway.
First, let's talk food. For dinner on Friday, head to O Lusitano. This place has a cosy atmosphere and the kids will love their fresh seafood. They're open late, so it's a great place to start your adventure.
On Saturday morning, grab a coffee and a scrumptious Portuguese pastry at Casa da Fonte. Then, let's burn some energy at Parque Aventura, a tree-top adventure park with courses suitable for all ages.
For lunch, Tasca do Viegas is a must. This hidden gem serves authentic Portuguese dishes that are to die for.
In the afternoon, explore the cobbled streets of the old town, dotted with boutiques, galleries, and cafes. Don't miss the Igreja Matriz, a beautiful church dating back to the 18th century.
On Sunday, take a boat tour from Marina de Albufeira to the stunning Benagil Cave.
Before heading home, indulge in a late lunch at Cabana Fresca, where the seafood is as fresh as it gets and the views are simply breathtaking.
And finally, when the kiddos are tucked in, my hubby and I managed to sneak out for a romantic dinner at Vila Joya, a two Michelin star restaurant with an exquisite tasting menu.
End of dispatch.
Was this any good?
