Rome Sweet Rome: A Luxurious Weekend Getaway

Spend 2.5 days in the heart of Rome, experiencing the city's culinary brilliance, hidden gems, and authentic Italian experiences.

By April Wagner

Ciao, dear friends! Ready for a weekend full of pasta, vino, and a dash of la dolce vita? Yes, we're heading to Rome! Before you get too excited, make sure your bags are packed for glam because we're doing this the April Wagner way - with style and luxury.

Start your Friday evening with a visit to Piazza Navona. It's the perfect spot to stroll around, feel the city's pulse, and maybe get a caricature. Dinner is at Al Moro, a delightful trattoria serving traditional Roman fare with a sophisticated touch. Afterward, a moonlit walk around the Trevi Fountain is a must.

Saturday morning, kickstart your day with a visit to Pasticceria De Bellis for some heavenly pastries and an espresso jolt. Then, treat yourself to a private tour of the Vatican Museums and marvel at Michaelangelo's masterpiece in the Sistine Chapel. Afterward, grab a pizza at the famous Pizzeria da Baffetto for lunch.

In the afternoon, indulge in some shopping at Via del Corso, or if you're feeling like my husband, check out the Borghese Gallery for a dose of fine art. Don't forget to book a session at the QC Terme Roma Spa before you head for dinner at La Pergola - a three-Michelin-starred restaurant where you'll dine like Roman royalty.

Sunday, visit the Colosseum early to beat the crowd. Have lunch at Roscioli, everyone's favorite for the best carbonara in town. After lunch, take a leisurely walk around Trastevere, where you can explore and shop at your own pace. Wiggle your way to the Campo de' Fiori market and don't forget to try the fresh produce.
